Scented Warm Milk

Ingredients
- 1 cup homemade almond milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 7 cardamom pods
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 star anise
- 1 tsp maple syrup
Preparation
- Fill a small saucepan with water and spices. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
- Pour the homemade almond milk and the maple syrup.
- Over low heat gently heat the milk until hot but not boiling.
- Cover and let steep for 15 minutes.
- Pour the milk into a cup through a sieve to strain out spices. Keep the star anise and add it in the cup.
