Smokey and Spicy Coconut "Bacon"

Servings: 3 cups
Crunchy and savoury, these smokey "bacon" flavoured coconut strips will add an exciting twist to your salads, sandwiches and even soups! Being incredibly easy to make on your own, these will soon become a staple in your recipe book. Make sure to make a lot, and store some for later!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups PRANA organic coconut strips
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Sriracha hot sauce (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a medium sized bowl, mix all the liquid ingredients, then add the coconut strips. Toss to coat well.
  3. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spread the coconut strips evenly. Bake for 10 minutes, stirring half way through. Be careful not to burn them!
  4. Allow to cool so the strips can become crunchy. Keep in a sealable bag, such as a Ziploc (or a PRANA bag).
