Making your own almond milk is not only easy, but it yields creamier and fresher results than the store-bought versions. You can easily flavour this recipe to your taste. Enjoy with your breakfast or as a mid-morning snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ cup espresso
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Soak the almonds for 4 hours or overnight. Drain, discard the water and rinse the almonds.
  2. Blend the almonds and water in a high-speed blender for about 1 minute.
  3. Using a nut milk bag, filter the milk. Squeeze the bag to extract as much milk as you can.
  4. Prepare the espresso.
  5. Add the almond milk, maple syrup and vanilla extract to the espresso.
  6. Stores in the refrigerator in a Mason-type jar.
