Ideally, this snack should be eaten in the first 30 minutes after your workout to get the best results. This recipe for a homemade, protein-filled cacao smoothie can easily be made with ingredients most people have on hand! Hemp seeds are extremely high in protein: 30 g of hemp seeds gives you 11 g of complete protein. And, they're rich in fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. If you don't already have them, make sure they're the next addition to your pantry!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp PRANA organic whole black Proactivchia seeds
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp nut butter (almond butter, hazelnut butter or peanut butter)
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1/8 cup oats (gluten-free, as needed)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 1/2 cup homemade almond milk

Preparation

  1. Put all the ingredients into your blender and mix on high speed until smooth and creamy.
