Servings: 6 servings
This festive and colorful drink can be made with whatever fruits are in season, and with or without alcohol by using sparkling apple juice instead. It's perfect for entertaining - all you have to do is cut the fruits in advance and add the rest of the ingredients when your guests arrive. It's a simple cocktail that'll cause a sensation!
Ingredients
- 1 (750 mL) bottle of sparkling white wine, prosecco or sparkling apple juice
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 pears, thinly sliced
- 2 sliced oranges
- Seeds from 1 pomegranate
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Cane sugar or coconut palm sugar (to frost glass rims)
- Juice of 1 lemon
Preparation
- In a large pitcher, mix wine, maple syrup, fruit and cinnamon sticks. Put in refrigerator and allow the flavours to mix about 30 minutes (no more or it will lose its fizz).
- Pour lemon juice in a shallow bowl and cane sugar in another. Dip glass rims first in juice, then sugar.
- Fill glasses with sangria and enjoy!
